Bewley Irish Imports Supports Prospectus Berco In Their Annual Golf Tournament
Bewley Irish Imports partnered with Prospectus Berco in support of the non-profit organization’s 27th Annual Golf Tournament, which was held on July 26, 2021. 500 boxes that contained Bewley’s Gold tea bags were donated by Bewley for use in the fundraiser as a way to thank the sponsors of the event. Program participants from Prospectus Berco’s Residential Services Program made cards and tied ribbons around the donated boxes to prepare them for delivery. Employees and program participants then delivered the packages to the sponsor companies after the Labor Day holiday so the businesses were able to share the tea with their employees and visitors as a way to enjoy “Tee Time on Us”. The fundraising event was a success, raising thousands of dollars that will go towards fulfilling the mission of Prospectus Berco.
Bewley’s Irish Imports is one of several businesses that partners with Prospectus Berco to fulfill its packaging needs, which provides employment opportunities to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
About Prospectus Berco
Prospectus Berco is a nonprofit corporation established in 1977 to provide quality services to adults with intellectual disabilities and special needs in Berks County. From the beginning, Prospectus Berco focused on individuals’ abilities, not their disabilities. The word “prospectus” means to see the potential in any circumstance. At Prospectus Berco, they promote the philosophy that the more than 425 individuals in their programs are part of the Berks County community. Programming requirements from Federal and State mandates have transitioned to individuals experiencing more community participation and receiving employment first opportunities. Their goals are accomplished through the excellent care provided by 300 professionals in their organization and the support of the Berks County community.
